Category I: Hardening Cements
- Ideal for use on tracers attached to pipes. Also for valves, elbows, or anywhere there is a desire to maintain temperatures above and below ambient.
- Temperature Limit: 750°F (400°C)
- For high-temperature use such as electric heaters.
- Temperature Limit: 1250°F (675°C)
Category II: Non-Hardening Cements
- Originally designed for use on externally heated/cooled tanks and vessels. Other uses include heat exchanged surfaces, instrumentation temperature control, electrical heating tape, and aluminum surfaces. This product should be used where frequent removal is necessary. These non-hardening mastics have high thermal expansion, thus allowing them to maintain excellent surface contact during expansion and contraction cycles.
- Temperature Limit: 375°F (191°C)
- Ideal for use on cooling/heating coils on tanks and vessels, and various other forms of heat exchange surfaces such as plate-to-plate, coil-to-coil, tubing to plate, expansion valves, etc. Can be easily removed and will withstand expansion and contraction cycles.
- Temperature Limit: 300°F (150°C)
Other Products
- A labor-saving alternative to troweled-on cements. Ready to install pre-formed 4-ft strips, flexible and fabricated to fit 3/8" and 1/2" size tracers. This product is ideal for straight runs of tracing.
- Quality galvanized steel fabricated to convenient 4-ft sections. Chemax covers offer extra protection for both the tracer and heat transfer cement. Negates curing or weather protection requirements when used in conjunction with hardening heat transfer cements.
